Aylesbury Folk Club

Aylesbury Folk Club

https://queensparkarts.com

Queens Park Arts Centre is the proud home of Aylesbury Folk Club - a bi-weekly club led by our resident folk artists Amanda Diamond and Eddy Richards

Launched in September 2015, the club gives folk enthusiasts the chance to enjoy great folk music, try their hand at some folk-inspired workshops and even step up to perform

The club usually meets every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month:

Folk in the Annexe (2nd Friday)

Join us in the Queens Park Arts Centre Annexe for an informal night of great music and chat. Meet fellow folkies, grab a drink from the pop-up bar, enjoy some brilliant acoustic music or even get up and perform yourself.

Entry: £4.50 non-performers / £2.50 performers / £3.50 concessions (pay on the door)

Feature Nights (occasional)

We´re always happy to champion local artists, and as such the club runs ´Feature Nights´ throughout the year. These run similarly to ´Folk in the Annexe´ nights, only with the featured act being given a ´headline´ spot to showcase their work. (Acoustic music only).

Entry: £6.50 non-performers / £3.50 performers / £4.50 concessions (pay on the door)

Guest Nights (4th Friday)

The fourth night of the month sees the club move to the Limelight Theatre, with a chance to see some of the best talent on the folk scene performing live.

Ticket prices vary from show to show (payable in advance or on the door).

Workshops

As well as our regular Friday meetings, Aylesbury Folk Club offers some great folk-themed workshops for you to try your hand at.

Head over to the Sunday Specials section for more details.

About Amanda & Eddy

Aylesbury Folk Club is run by our resident folk artists, singer Amanda Diamond and her husband, guitarist Eddy Richards.

Amanda Diamond has been singing in folk clubs for 33 years. Her father Hugh Diamond is a stalwart of the English Folk scene and dragged Amanda everywhere from Sidmouth and Towersey festivals (to name a few) to folk clubs all over the country.

Starting out in the popular Herga Folk Club, Amanda then went on to have a residency at Capital Folk Club in London and her father´s club Maid of Ale in Maida Vale!

She met her husband, Eddy Richards at the Barnet Folk Club, who has since accompanied her on guitar for 30 years.
