Exeter Barnfield Theatre is a purpose built theatre located in the heart of Exeter’s city centre.
The building itself dates from 1890, when it was the home of the Exeter Literary Society, and has been variously occupied by the GPO, Civil Defence, the Tax Office and the Exeter Little Theatre Company.
Now completely independent and run by a charity, today the theatre plays host to a wide variety of shows, conferences, Mother & Toddler groups, theatre schools and great music. We have a small but dedicated team of staff and volunteers who maintain the building, deliver brochures, serve drinks in the Barnfield Bar, serve snacks and ice creams, meet and greet, man the box office desk and telephone and work hard to make your visit to the Barnfield Theatre the most welcoming, friendly and entertaining experience it can be.
