Folk Bands and Artists

Broomdasher’s six unaccompanied voices sing traditional English Folk songs of love and loss, work and play, revenge….. and murder.

They’re passionate about spreading the enjoyment of folk music by encouraging audiences both to listen to the power of natural voices and to join in.

Their debut shows last year produced astonishing responses, with them immediately being invited back by every venue and festival they played. Some of the country’s most respected folk artistes have also been impressed, guiding their progress and gifting them songs to arrange in their own style.

Coope Boyes and Simpson invited Broomdasher to support them on their farewell gig, and at the end of the show gifted their whole repertoire to Broomdasher to re-arrange for six-part harmonies. Barry Coope himself arranged Rufford Park Poacher for their debut CD “Nothing To Do With Me”, which was produced by Andy Seward and is out in September.

John Tams gifted them “How High The Price/ All CloudsThe Sky” hearing them perform their version while supporting him at The Ram, and it’s also on their CD.

Having spent many years performing solo or with other groups, they met while singing at Cecil Sharp House and decided to explore the potential of their unique harmonies by creating Broomdasher.
Here´s what people say about Broomdasher:
