EP Preview: ´When Golden Morning Comes´ - Sam Jordan & The Dead Boys

Sam Jordan & The Dead Boys have released a second track from their forthcoming debut ´When Golden Morning Comes´ E.P., in the form of new digital single ´Sister´. The track premiered on 405, with its timeless cinematic video debuting on Gigslutz.

Brighton based Sam Jordan & The Dead Boys is the work of Brighton singer Sam Jordan and a collective of musician friends (The Dead Boys).  The collective create dark, dramatic soundscapes which have seen comparisons to Damien Rice, whilst Sam’s vocals are at times rugged and Tom Waits-influenced in their raw delivery, before morphing into an unexpected and heart-rendingly fragile falsetto.

Sam Jordan is heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, The Doors, Leadbelly, John Jacob Niles, Alan Lomax, Charles Bukowski, George Orwell, Hofesh Shechter, Pina Bausch, building (guttering and concreting foundations), dogs, getting on the bus with drunkards and the belief in angels

‘Sister’ was released digitally Friday 1st April, and follows the teaser track ‘Waiting Rooms’ which premiered on Clash. All songs were tracked, mixed and mastered live using solely analogue equipment at Toe Rag Studios (The White Stripes, Madness and The Wytches) and are on ‘When Golden Morning Comes’ E.P. released on 6 May via Sam Jordan’s label Dead Good Records /Cooking Vinyl Publishing.
