A Folk Music Performer/Entertainer of some note, Graham Carter is also a Club Organizer and Promoter.

Coming from a musical household, he was exposed to Folk Songs from an early age, teaching himself to play acoustic guitar in his teens. Later on, after relocating from the South of England (Poole) to Scotland, he became heavily involved with the Scottish Folk Club scene.

He attributes two key meetings with both Johnny Silvo and Peggy Seeger for steering his music career in the right direction. Witnessing Silvo in action was a great inspiration whilst encountering Ms. Seeger resulted in him learning the Banjo. Other influences include The Dubliners, Martin Carthy, Ewan McColl, Jeannie Robertson, The Stewarts of Blairgowrie, Sam Larner, Judy Collins, Joan Baez and, of course, Bob Dylan.

He has performed for audiences across Scotland & England and his repertoire is extensive. His popular shows consist mainly of the Folk Songs of the UK and Ireland, along with the odd Blues/Americana or self-penned song for good measure. His instruments of choice being Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica and Banjo, he is also a versatile singer, well known for encouraging audience participation and his concerts never fail to please.
