Folk Bands and Artists
Hannah James and Sam Sweeney ventured out as a duo after nine years with their band, Kerfuffle, who made five albums and appeared at festivals throughout the U.K. and abroad. Kerfuffle played their last official gig at Shrewsbury Folk Festival in 2010 to pursue separate musical careers, but still tour their very successful Midwinter show ‘Lighten the Dark’ in December each year.
Hannah is a member of Lady Maisery, a vocal harmony trio formed with Hazel Askew (The Askew Sisters) and Rowan Rheingans (Fidola). Inspired by folk singing traditions of the UK and northern Europe, Lady Maisery sing songs and ballads both unaccompanied and with backing from their combined instrumental talents on accordion, harp and fiddle.
Hannah was also a member of accordion trio, Hell Said the Duchess with Karen Tweed and Becky Price.
