Jaywalkers
Helsby
Since reaching the finals of the BBC Young Folk Awards in 2008, Jaywalkers have cemented their place as one of the most entertaining young bands working on the British Folk scene. The band takes influence from folk, bluegrass, country and western swing music, combining with three part harmony and impressive slap bass.
Jaywalkers met in 2003 in the small Cheshire town of Helsby where Lucy’s family ran a weekly bluegrass jam session. After several years of friendship and playing in bands, Jaywalkers was formed in 2008 by Mike on mandolin and Jay on fiddle/vocals, with Lucy joining a few years later.
