Mamadou
Mamadou Diaw is a singer, composer and master drummer from Senegal, West Africa, specialising in a style of music that mixes jazz, funk, and Senegalese mbalax.
Before first coming to Europe in the 90s on tour, Mamadou toured Africa extensively as kit player extraodinaire with some of West Africa´s most popular and respected musicians of the day.
Living in Europe since 1996, Mamadou has set up the ´Super Libidor Band´, a live act with a mean rhythm section which forces audiences to their feet!
With success across the UK and beyond Mamadou has worked with experienced musicians from a wide range of backgrounds, and from across Africa and Europe, to produce a unique yet totally Senegalese sound.
Long time collaborators include violinist Tom Sykes, bassist Steve ´Kip´ Kersey, keyboard player/singer Karen Wynne, and a host of top West African musicians currently including Karim Mbaye and Alioune Samb.
