This acoustic London-based folk-punk cabaret trio led by Nigel Burch, (“The Troubadour Of Urban Angst”), deliver dark and gritty, bittersweet ditties with wit and a vitriolic fervour. The Guardian calls the music “a cross between Ian Dury, Brecht and Weill, an Irish pub band and a 1950’s skiffle group. Songs of urban-alienation with plenty of fierce spontaneous playing.”

After an early career writing and performing new-wave/punk with The Outpatients and Figures of Fun and sharing the bill with the likes of The Damned, Sham 69, The Members, John Cooper Clarke, Coyne and Crass, Burch picked up the banjolele and created and expanded sound including violin, double bass, cello and with Andrew Ranken of The Pogues on drums, Flea-Pit Music is self-penned twisted skiffle and bar-room ballads – Cockney-Weimar cabaret style – a punkdiddley Brechtian hoedown, spit-and sawdust vaudeville that you can drink and dance to.

They have toured extensively in the UK, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland and Russia and the current stripped down trio features Burch on vocals and banjolele accompanied by violinist Dylan Bates and Richard Lee on double bass.
