Multi-faceted instrumentalist and master songsmith Benn brings his punk powered pop band to the fore.
Because my name is Benn Tilby my project is called Ben To The Power Of n, or Ben for short, or BENn if you´re on a computer. When I´m doing samba or bossanova I´m called Bem Carequiña and when I´m doing rock I´m called Benn and when I´m doing folk I´m called Bennyboy and when I´m doing punk I´m called Bomb and when I´m doing country I´m called Ben Trilby. By ´experimental´ songwriter I mean that I have an understanding of what
a song is and what a song is not, and that I am experimenting with those aspects which make a song a song, rather than a different sort of composition, or just production. I don´t experiment on my
audiences, open-mic performers or band-members!
By ´multi-voiced singer´ I mean that I have come to express the very different sides of myself with my voices. Sometimes they sing Ya together
By ´multi-instrumentalist´ I mean that I play a number of instruments. In order of when I began learning them: piano, xylophone, recorder, s-clarinet, guitar, bass, mandola, accordion and I am currently still trying to learn drums. I don´t play brass. One day I would like to start to learn to play
the cello.
I don´t play any of them brilliantly. I am a generalist and play to do songs.
