Red Pine Timber Co’s winning blend of Americana, country, soul, blues and southern rock has rightly earned them a formidable reputation as a truly great live band who have made the big Perth Concert Hall stage very much their own in a series of triumphant hometown shows over the last couple of years.
Even more than the sum of its many talented parts, Red Pine boast a magnetic front pairing of songwriter Gav Munro and the fabulous voice of Katie Whittaker, while Dave MacFarlane’s fiddle adds a celtic flavour and the band’s trump card is the imaginative brass arrangements of trombonist Chris Marshall creating an utterly unique sound, adding great depth and soul to an already combustible mixture.
The band are about to release the follow-up to their acclaimed debut album, Different Lonesome, following a highly successful crowd-funding campaign and are now planning their first full Scottish tour to promote it for autumn 2017.
