RPS Surfers

Tel Aviv

RPS Surfers is a Mediterranean surf-rock band based in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
Their music can be described as a combination of traditional 60´s surf with middle-eastern sounds and is best recognized by strumming reverb guitars, vintage organs, thunderous drums and crazy saxophone.
So far, the band released two instrumental concept LPs, in which the permanent band is accompanied by classical horn and strings sections, ethnic instruments like the accordion, mandolin and darbukas as well as modern synth sounds.
Their debut album, Danger Beach, was self-produced and released in 2014 by Audio-Montage label. The album tells the story of a mysterious creature living in a secret surf spot in Tel-Aviv.
In 2017 the band’s second album, Harake Gang was produced by Uri Brauner Kinrot (Boom Pam, Ouzo Bazooka) and released by Toybear records. It is an homage to the Hot Rod genre, dedicated to a legendary motorcycle gang from the early ‘60s, who used to perform breathtaking stunts on the hot Israeli sand dunes, attracting the youth and irritating the elders. Their story is told through 13 tunes that sound as if they were taken from old surf/sci-fi movies.
Recently, Bandcamp Daily magazine selected the RPS Surfers as one of 12 essential acts behind the Israeli groove scene.
