The Jim Mercer Band
The Jim Mercer Band features Peter Parker on bass and Sakura Mori on drums. Peter and Sakura have always worked with Jim as his rhythm section when he goes out with his band. They are married and also have their own band – “Peter Parker’s Rock N Roll Club”! Peter’s main instrument is guitar and he writes all their material – they have also recorded and toured with their band. Sakura came to London from Japan in 2006 and also works as an artist.
Jim plays Ragtime and Country Blues with an injection of his own material. He released his album “Charlie’s Flash Saloon” in 2014 – it has gained particular interest in the USA where he hopes to tour next year. Jim has been appearing at the Magic Garden for the last six years with the Gordon Smith Band who he plays upright bass with.
