The Wild East
The Wild East are a London band who play US Country music. Comprising some musicians who actually first played together at school in Leicestershire in the 1980s, the band features Charlie Knowles on vocals and acoustic guitar, Frank Cooke on lap steel guitar, Andy Biggs on piano, Shane Gilliver on bass and backing vocals and Joe Ospalla on snare. The Wild East perform songs dating back to the 1930s including Nashville classics, early Rockabilly, Western Swing and the Bakersfield sound. Our set features covers by many great artists including Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills and Johnny Cash, along with original material in these styles.
