Release date for Moulettes’ latest album confirmed

Brighton-based alt-folk/pop/rock band Moulettes will release their latest studio album on the 27th May this year, the band have confirmed today.

Preternatural draws on influences found from the natural world and is described as the band’s most accomplished album to date. Drummer, guitarist, pianist and vocalist Ollie Austin describes parts of the album as “A beautiful illustration of symbiosis between animals, minerals and plants.”

The five-piece band, made up of Hannah Miller (Cello, vocals, guitar), Ollie Austin (Drums, guitar, piano, vocals), Ruth Skipper (Bassoon, vocals, autoharp, synths), Jim Mortimore (Double bass, Guitar, vocals) and Raevennan Husbandes (Electric Guitar, Vocals, Percussion), have performed at festivals such as the Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival and Glastonbury, and have shared stages with the likes of Mumford and Sons, Bonobo and Mick Jagger.

The Moulettes will be heading out on their UK tour in April, starting in Southampton on the 21st April, including a date at the Islington Assembly Halls London on the 23rd April. For full tour listing, visit the band’s website.

Preternatural is the band’s fourth studio outing, following successful releases in 2010, 2012 and 2014, and is available for pre-order now via the band’s website www.moulettes.co.uk.

Vocalist and electric guitarist Raevennan Husbandes recently stood in as a support act for The Black Feathers at the Green Note in Camden – read a review here.
