Adam´s earliest memories are of hearing his mother sing traditional Scottish ballads/songs at home and at festivals. Singing/songwriting has always been a part of his life, although in latter years his focus has been firmly fixed on traditional/folk music. His impressive song writing talent was recognised in 2007 when he won the Annual Girvan Folk Festival singer/songwriting competition for his song Stormbound, a song about the decline of the fishing industry. Although he has been singing and performing throughout his adult life, this album represents not only a return to songs from his childhood/family gatherings but a welcome return to performing live after taking time out following starting his family in 2008. Surprisingly easy to sing-along to, Adam´s own lyrics tend to reflect his deep sense of conscience and, as is the family tradition, he loves a song “WAE A GUID STORY“ (blood, guts & all) and can deliver a tale with ease. Adam is equally at home singing unaccompanied as he is playing with other artists. Now collaborating with the newly formed Adam McCulloch Trio featuring Rebecca Brown on fiddle and Sean Thomson on mandolin, Adam hopes to begin working in the near future on his next album which will feature more of his own material.

Sean Thomson, mandolin and guitar tutor with no time to sort oot his biography!!!

Rebecca Brown has a first class degree in Applied Music from Strathclyde University and has been performing and tutoring professionally for several years now. She attended Plockton´s National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music for two years, and has been tutored by the likes of Gillian Frame and Iain MacFarlane. Rebecca also performs with traditional Scottish band Canterach, and folk/gypsy band Banat. She has been influenced over the years by various Celtic fiddling styles such as Cape Breton, Bluegrass, Irish and Gypsy, however leaves an unmistakably Scottish stamp upon the Adam McCulloch Trio´s dynamic sound.
