Broomdasher is a five voice acapella group singing traditional English folk songs. Formed six years ago by singers with a long folk pedigree, their evocative harmony singing and engaging stage shows have proved real audience-pleasers. All their recordings are in the British Museum´s National Sound Archive as “An outstanding example of grass roots folk music today“.

Currently touring their Country Diary of an Edwardian lady folk musical, praised as “Traditional Folk meets Edwardian Eco-Warrior. Fantastic“.

A Live album of the show The Country Diary Live has just been released

Their CD Nothing To Do With Me also pleased the critics Folking.com: “Glorious harmonies and finely crafted arrangements. An impressive calling card to bolster their flourishing live reputation”

They are Chris, a founder member of shanty festival favourites Hog Eye Men and the London Lubbers, who also worked with Skinny Lister; Deena, who was taught and toured with Leon Rosselson; Jo, originally a classical performer, who studied with revered baritone John Carol Case renowned for his work with Ralph Vaughan Williams; Margaret, an accomplished woodwind player and actress as well as a singer and Richard, a member of folk group Dorten Yonder who was also half of BBC Radio Derby regulars The Moonshine duo.
