Vedantha Kumar and co-vocalist, Ned Mortimer, became close friends at university, bonding over a mutual preference for songwriting over essay writing. They forged an immediate musical chemistry, playing long into the night and honing their complementary voices and intricate guitar playing. After growing their fan base with a collection of home-recorded tracks, Embers, the boys met classical violist, Jordan Bergmans, at a Christmas party on London´s South Bank. Realising her immense ability (to make both music and chocolate mousse), the boys courted her for several months and, with her trademark laugh, she fell with open arms into the band. Several moons later, the acclaimed ‘Wolves’ was born, receiving plaudits from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Kerrang! Radio.

The trio create hauntingly beautiful indie-folk with thought-provoking lyricism, rich vocal harmonies, and varying layers of classically inspired orchestration. The intimacy of their songs is echoed by their performance on stage - every concert is a two-way interaction, as they tell the stories behind their songs with subtle charm, and sail their origami boat around the crowd to be filled with themed messages. After a busy year of touring, with sold-out shows across Europe, a residency at Ronnie Scott´s and sets with SOFAR Sounds Amsterdam and a support slot for hero Scott Matthews, they headed to Paris to record new material with French producer Jonathan Lefèvre-Reich. The follow-up to ´Wolves´ will be released in early 2016.
