Folk at the New Room presents Sturla Eide & Philip Miles
This is the UK tour debut of duo Sturla Eide & Philip Miles. Sturla is one of the foremost performers of the traditional Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and has won many awards and released several albums. His versatile playing earns him great respect in the folk world.
Cheltenham-born UK pianist and piano accordionist, Philip Miles has absorbed folk music from his youth into his own unique and virtuosic piano playing.
Together the duo weave their differing musical roots into a wonderfully diverse yet intricate tapestry of sound. Expect to hear the finest folk melodies blended with beautiful piano accompaniments and upbeat tunes on accordion and fiddle.
Prior to the concert from 5:30pm-6:30pm, the duo will teach Nordic tunes for interested players of any instrument. So bring your instrument along - or just come and listen!
A combination ticket is available for the workshop and the concert.
