“It´s absolutely brilliant.....he´s found his voice!“ Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2

With two packed out Green Note gigs under his belt, Henry´s very much looking forward to returning to his favourite London intimate venue for a rare gig in the capital.
In 2009, Henry (who wrote all those hits for The Christians in the 80´s, and Yachts´ songs in the 70´s) reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter, and released his debut solo CD “The Chronicles of Modern Life“ to critical acclaim, and singles from the album (including “Grey´s The New Blonde“) made it onto the Radio 2 playlist.
Proper Records released “The Last Mad Surge of Youth“, in 2014 and it garnered Henry the best reviews he´s had in 36 years of releasing records (see below), and in 2015 a live 21 track DVD was released, “Settle Down“, covering songs from his 38 years in the music biz.
Here´s what they said about the new album:

UnCut: 8/10 “...compares favourably to Ray Davies. These are heart-warming self-assured songs from a man confidently declaring that he´s not done yet“

R2: **** “Clever crafted songwriting...full of proper tunes & grown-up words...a clever, wily, literate writer“

Q: ***“It´s all bound by Priestman´s songwriterly craft: some things age cannot whither“

New Zealand, Sunday Star Times ****1/2 (CD of the Week) : “unique clarity, and honesty...“

Classic Pop: **** “A lovingly crafted album...his fourth act might be his best“

New Zealand, The Dominion Post ****: “Priestman occupies the territory somewhere between Ray Davies´ sardonic take on life and Nick Lowe´s sly humour“...
