London Folk Events and Promoters
Promoting the finest in UK alt-folk. Our music policy comes from the kitchen table, the roots of public performance- intimate, acoustic based & high quality.
New Roots is committed to promoting events that shine a light on up and coming talent in the UK alt-folk and roots scene. It’s committed to providing artists with an environment that is sympathetic to what they do, giving musicians the respect they and their music deserves. For this reason we ask for no talking and no use of mobile phones during performances to ensure the music gets the attention it warrants. We put bills together that we think work as a whole, so the night can be experienced as a show in it’s own right, from start to finish. We work with venues that share our attitude- The Green Note in NW1, The Harrison in WC1, No.14 Bacon Street off Brick Lane, E1, The Slaughtered Lamb in Farringdon EC1, The Old Queens Head in Islington, N1, and our own very special venue, The Winemakers, a beautiful candle-lit stone arch in the vaults of the Holborn viaduct. Our music policy comes from the kitchen table, the roots of public performance- intimate, acoustic based, high quality musicianship with as little interference between performer and listener as possible.
