New single from CROOKED WEATHER

New single from CROOKED WEATHER

NEW SINGLE ‘Easy’ Release Date: 15th March 2019

Crooked Weather are a rock infused folk band, based out of a tragic mustard 1979 campervan. They hail from the depths of East Yorkshire, with the lilting harmonies from Holly and Will at the core. Their song writing is heavily influenced by the folk revival of the late 60´s, has a raw, modern edge, augmented by a fierce rhythm section.

Building up a steady reputation for their unpredictably dynamic live shows, they´ve supported the likes of Jeffrey Lewis, Michael Chapman, Mike Heron (Incredible String Band), Jim Jones, Dick Gaughan, Roddy Woomble & Bridget St. John.

The new single ‘Easy’, is a tormented piece of spectral folk drifts between the delicate and the damned and is forced ever on by lilting vocals, a ferocious acoustic guitar and a driving rhythm section.

This release is accompanied by a music video from their studio recording and is the fourth and final single ahead of their new album ‘Are We Lost’ due out on Friday the 12th of April 2019. The band are touring the album around England during April and May with more shows and festivals lined up later in the year.

“Easy was one of those songs that just wrote itself and it’s hard to say where this kind of a song comes from. It had been fermenting away in the background for a while and ideas would come now and again when outside cutting the grass and things like that. Then one afternoon it pretty much came out fully formed. It’s probably best not spending too long thinking about where it came from.” Will Bladen

"They are indie meets world music meets traditional British folk. Think a contemporary Incredible String Band with a 21st century mindset." - Sid Griffin (Bob Dylan Biographer // BBC Radio 6 Music)

“They’re great! Holly sounds like a hard-edged Joni Mitchell.” - Dick Taylor, The Pretty Things

“Every track they´ve ever sent us has been full of emotion and integrity, and quite frankly an example of brilliant, earthly folk music of today." - Alan Raw (BBC Introducing Humberside/Leeds)

“The Future of British Folk” - Keith Stockman (UK Folk Promoter)
