The King & Queen

The King & Queen is a friendly, independent pub in the heart of London’s up-and-coming Fitzrovia.

The King & Queen’s function room is home to a regular folk club, and has something of a reputation in this field – in 1962 Bob Dylan played his first gig outside of the United States in our function room, an event that was voted one of the most important gigs of all time by Time Out magazine.

It was organised by British folk legend Martin Carthy, solo artist and former member of Steeleye Span and the Albion Folk Band, who performed at The King & Queen as recently as January 2013. And to prove we’re not making it up, you can see a photo of Dylan himself at The K&Q in the bar.

Don’t worry if folk music isn’t your thing, though – our jukebox in the bar caters for all tastes!
