The Pheasant´s Eye: Scottish Music with Highland Dance
Stroud Green Festival, 9th June
Join the award-winning Ensemble Hesperi for a fun-filled concert showcasing Scottish Baroque Music inspired by traditional Scottish music, brought to life by Highland dancer Kathleen Gilbert.
Discover haunting melodies and sonatas composed in 18th century Edinburgh, and learn more about the dazzling career of Scottish composer James Oswald, whose Airs for the Seasons delighted 18th century London society with their ´Scotch Style´.
Tap your feet to the infectious Scottish dance rhythms or come and dance with us - workshop participants (see Stroud Green Festival event 4 from 3.30-5.30pm) will have the opportunity to perform what they have learnt in the concert itself!

Stroud Green Festival is a community event for people who are curious about music.
Much of our music might be classified as classical or early music – and we always have a jazz and a folk event each year. But we’re more interested in open borders than boundaries – for some of our events, it is hard to tell where classical ends and folk starts.
There’s something for everyone, some events are free, others reasonably priced. Several are Family Friendly. And many are quirky or for the curious.
