James Riley - “New York Minute“ Single Launch
Gracefully navigating the line between folk, Americana and adult pop, UK born Anglo/American singer-songwriter James Riley is set to release his new single ‘New York Minute’ on March 22nd. Taken from his forthcoming debut album, the single is accompanied by a cinematic self-directed video, filmed on location in New York City. To celebrate the release, James will be performing at the Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton on March 20th.
‘New York Minute’ is the second single taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Transatlanctica’ out later this year, and features a driving percussive back beat and insistent melody, contained in Riley’s expressive and soulful vocals.
He says of the track: “It’s a song about possibility and inspiration. New York is a place that lives and breathes its own myth, and I could feel that very viscerally when I first moved to America… there’s an uncanny, almost dreamlike feeling about that city, which I think I was trying to capture in the song”.
The album was recorded in Nashville after Riley made an impulsive decision to leave London for the song-writing mecca and a two-week trip turned into two years. He scraped together a living for several months doing odd jobs and gigging wherever he could. Eventually, he met Grammy Award winning producer Matthew Odmark with whom he co-produced the album.
2019 promises to see James Riley reach for greater heights. With a tour dates lined up and the release of his debut album ‘Transatlantica’.
