We love film at the Bijou, and we’re here to bring cinema to you: the community. Screenings include classics old and new, independent films and dynamic world cinema. Please do write your Film and Arts Events requests on the chalkboard in the Cafe/Bar, as we listen to all recommendations for future programming!
On the accessible ground floor is our friendly Cafe/Bar/Box Office, with a chic-style Fracino Coffee Machine. We also sell a range of bottled lagers, ales and wines, as well as assorted soft drinks, one hour before and after our film screenings. We welcome well-behaved dogs in our Bar, too! Accessible unisex toilets are open for Bijou customers.
For accessible assistance into the building itself, please press the front door bell and we will provide the ramp.
Adjacent to the Bar is the Cinema – a raked auditorium with comfortable seats, an Optoma 8000-lumens projector, and 5.1 Surround Sound to present an immersive experience. Space for wheelchairs is available, as well as an induction loop system.
Upstairs, on the first floor, is The Lounge, a spacious, large room with seating available for events and parties, and is accessible by lift.
