Tara Arts presents
Founded in 1977 by Artistic Director Jatinder Verma, Tara Arts began life as a touring company. It staged its opening production, Sacrifice, a play by the Nobel Prize-winning Indian playwright Rabindranath Tagore, at Battersea Arts Centre in August 1977.
In September 1983, Tara Arts secured 356 Garratt Lane in Earlsfield as its home. Which was renovated in 2016 & re-opened as Tara Theatre by the Mayor of London, Sadqi Khan on 1st September.
Tara Theatre is a unique architectural fusion of East and West, echoing the company´s vision of connecting worlds.
