Rose Ford is a contemporary alt folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, based in London.
She recorded her first songs at just 4 years old, and later went on to study music at Goldsmiths University of London, one of the UK’s leading universities for music and the arts.
Since the release of her EP, The Pilgrims Prayer (2017), Rose has been recording her debut album, which is due to be released in 2020.
Stemming from fairytales and laced with the fabric of magic, Rose’s songs express darker themes of loss, grief and dreaming through the enchanting lens of childhood innocence. Her timeless lyrics often conjure scenes of the ethereal; mythical landscapes where human and animal interactions are frequent, and ultimately highlight deeply human experiences.
The lullabye-esk quality to her songwriting style perfectly compliments her maternal and unconditionally comforting voice. Her voice, like her lyrics, holds the timeless, eloquent and nostalgic quality that has carried through British folk music for centuries. Rose’s music is full of wisdom and honesty, which she carries effortlessly into every corner of her music making.
