We’re delighted to welcome Tom Kitching & Jennifer Reid to the Live to your Living Room stage for their very special show: Bitter & Mild.

Join Tom and Jennifer on a whistle-stop tour of the North West and make sense of the bewildering changes wrought by industrialisation and modernity through lots of singing and dancing.

What to expect: There’s nothing we love more than celebrating the different types of folk across the UK, and Bitter & Mild showcases the very best of the North West of England.

From the rolling landscapes of rural Cheshire to the rich industrial heritage of Manchester, enjoy rousing songs, tongue-in-cheek stories, frantic sing-alongs and… a skeletal horse!

About the artist(s)

Tom Kitching is an author, fiddle player, and speaker who has played alongside Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Zoe Mulford, and Gavin Davenport.

Jennifer Reid specialises in performing Victorian and Georgian Lancashire dialect work songs and broadside ballads and has opened for Pulp and John Cooper Clarke.

Tom and Jennifer appeared together in Shane Meadows’ BBC costume drama The Gallows Pole and discovered a shared love of the same music… the rest, as they say, is history!

ABOUT THE GIG

This event will be held live on Zoom, with a remote sound engineer for high-quality sound. Our gigs allow interaction between artists and audiences, so the artist can hear you applaud and you can even have the chance to ask them any burning questions.

Tickets are £18, with the option to pay a bit less (£12) or a bit more (£30) depending on what is affordable for you. You only need one ticket per household.
