Katie Grace Harris made her Folk singing debut in a rusty Triumph Toledo accompanied only by her Dad:
´We would sing songs from Joni Mitchell, The Spinners, Ralph McTell and James Taylor´ she says.
It´s no doubt that these early experiences have influenced the sound that she makes today which can best be described as earthy, piano accompanied English Folk; gentle new arrangements of traditional songs alongside raw and exposed original compositions which draw attention to historic stories with a smattering of social justice to temper the mix. Katie has turned her hand to a variety of instruments including Piano, Whistles, Piano Accordion and Shruti. Katie can mostly be spotted playing solo or with various musicians around the folk clubs of the UK.
