Mick O’Connor, Michael Sweeney & Tad Sargent

Mick O’Connor, Michael Sweeney & Tad Sargent

The inimitable Mick O’Connor has been at the forefront of the London Irish music scene since the 1960s, having originally been inspired to take up the banjo by Barney McKenna of the Dubliners. A highly skilled musician and equally entertaining on the mic, Mick is universally loved within the music scene. He is joined by Michael Sweeney originally from Derry, but living in London for many years. He studied traditional music in Donegal with the guidance of the great fiddle players, James Byrne and Proinsias Ó Maonaigh.
Multi instrumentalist Tad Sargent completes the trio. London born, with Co Mayo roots, Tad is in high demand as a musician. He has toured and performed at festivals across the UK, Europe and the USA and has appeared on a plethora of commercial recordings. Both Michael and Tad are resident tutors at the Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith.
