Desta French is a Camden-born Artist spearheading a new Latinx London sound. Her range of influences span from RnB, Salsa, Cumbia, Latin Jazz, Hip Hop, Low Fi, Grime and Pop, which you can hear peppered all throughout her music - contributing to her colourful catalogue and unmistakable sound.
Songs like ´Guajira´ and ´Into the Wave´ from her debut Bi-Lingual EP ‘SAN LAZARUS’ in 2020 have been laying down a blueprint for a new generation of British Latinx creatives — unique from the internationally-recognised diaspora established in the United States and the rest of the world.
More recently her EP ‘Bendecida’ explores ideas of faith, romance and cultural identity inspired by the matriarchs who raised her.
