Julie July Diamond Rainbows Album Tour

Julie July makes a debut performance at The Barbican, Plymouth for an evening of heartfelt folk-rock, expressive vocals, and timeless performance. Backed by a collective of professional, gifted songwriters and musicians, Julie delivers music rich in texture, depth, and emotional resonance.
The band’s sound channels the spirit of the great 70s folk-rock artists — drawing inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Strawbs, and Richard & Linda Thompson — yet reinvented with a contemporary style that feels fresh and timeless. Expect brand-new material from their forthcoming 2026 album, alongside cherished songs from earlier releases — music widely praised for its craft and character.
Experience Julie July live with her full six-piece band — delivering a powerful night of dynamic, uplifting folk-rock at Pershore Arts Centre.
“Julie’s vocals are so clear and pure and beautifully sung and everything that backs her is entwined in a melodic entangled delight… There are influences from members of the band and it becomes obvious who has penned which track, Steve Rezillo written numbers hold lead breaks that take you away and hold you suspended before Julie comes in again with the lyrical voice of a lark in flight.” — Martin (Fan)

“Any day is a good day to see the JulieJuly Band live! They have bags of experience under their belts now, and it shows. From a dialled-in rhythm section to creamy tasteful guitars, well-judged keys and 5 part harmonies with Julie’s voice up front and in a class of its own, these guys are the real deal!” — Marcus (Fan)

“Superb band of great musicians. Go see them if you can, you won’t be disappointed. One of the best folk rock bands around at the moment.” — Stephen (Fan)
The band’s roots are deeply connected to the music of the late Sandy Denny, whose writing and voice helped define the golden era of British folk-rock. Julie first came to prominence performing songs from Sandy’s celebrated catalogue — honouring her legacy with sensitivity and authenticity — while gradually opening the door to original material shaped by the band’s creative contributors. Sandy’s influence continues to flow through their sound: the poetic lyricism, emotional resonance, and timeless melodic sensibility.
In 2026, Julie July will be releasing her fourth original album — a body of work that moves beyond homage to capture the essence of 70s folk-rock while re-imagining it for the 21st century. The new songs are rooted in tradition yet boldly forward-looking, blending classic inspiration with modern songwriting, contemporary themes and fresh musical textures.
With influences from Fleetwood Mac, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Strawbs and Richard & Linda Thompson, the Julie July Band deliver uplifting sets filled with harmony, heart and dynamic musicianship.
Expect a true folk-rock experience — rich with history, renewed with creativity, and carried by the unmistakable spirit of Cropredy.
Stripped back for an intimate setting, the acoustic line-up shines a light on the band’s songwriting craft and rich harmonies. Their performances feature powerful vocals, soulful arrangements and skilled musicianship, engaging audiences from the first note to the last. Expect favourites from their acclaimed albums Lady of the First Light, Wonderland and Flight of Fancy, alongside a sprinkling of carefully chosen classics.
Critics and audiences alike have praised the band:
“A vocal tour de force… evocative and melodic.” (R2 Magazine).
“Beautiful songs, beautifully performed.” (Festival Flyer).
“Incredible musicianship and stage presence… had the audience spellbound.” (Shrewsbury Folk Festival review).
“Absolutely fantastic night… one of the best folk-rock bands around.” (Audience reviews)
Whether in concert halls, festivals, or bijou venues, the Julie July Band continue to win hearts with their warmth, passion and the sheer joy they bring to live performance.
The line-up features musicians with strong Folk-Rock roots including Dik Cadbury, who played with Decameron and Steve Hackett, on bass, acoustic guitar and vocals and Mick Candler of Decameron and The Roll Movement on drums & percussion. Julie July brings powerful, emotional and crystal-clear lead vocals with a voice that really echoes the late Sandy Denny. The Rock element of the band is provided by Steve Rezillo on lead guitar who has supported the likes of Thin Lizzy and Aztec Camera: Steve’s unbelievable talents on the guitar and in studio are essential to creating the band’s authentic Folk-Rock sound. The newest member of the band, Australian Caley Groves, brings fairy dust and magic to the mix with his acoustic guitar and offers a Latin, gypsy-jazz twist to the band’s live performances. Last, but not least, one of the band’s songwriters, Carol Lee Sampson, contributes soulful and heartfelt performances on keyboards and vocals.
