Tribute to George Zambetas

Sevdalides in collaboration with Miss Catherine Clambaneva and Mr Stavros Papanikolaou, return to the Green Note for an evening dedicated to the songs of George Zambetas, one of the great figures of Greek popular music.

A master of the bouzouki with a style instantly recognisable, Zambetas wrote songs full of humour, heartbreak, warmth and streetwise poetry. Deeply connected to the spirit of Athens, he moved effortlessly between rebetiko and laïko, leaving behind a body of work that remains loved across generations.

This tribute brings together a selection of his songs, famous classics alongside lesser-known pieces, in celebration of the character, honesty and musical soul that made Zambetas unforgettable.
