London based band Brazen Thieves fuse contemporary folk with classical influences to create wholly original takes on traditional songs.
Raised on folk music, sisters Laura (vocals/violin) and Rebecca
(vocals/guitar/concertina) began by adapting songs and arrangements originally selected by their father, Clive Woolf, when he was playing on the UK scene in the late 60s.
Together as a trio with Lucy (vocals/cello) they sing songs of heartbreak and hangings, with distinctive arrangements and a cappella offerings from their London roots to New England’s Sacred Harp tradition.
