Artist description: Married to the sea formed in 2007 and are based in Liverpool. Having played together in various bands, the members set out to create rowdy pop that people could dance to. The band draw as much influence from the bittersweet sounds of Abba and Motown as they do from the off kilter dynamics of bands like The Pixies, Built to spill and Wilco. In March the band will release their new EP ‘Pack Xerxes’. The four songs were produced by Rob Whiteley (The Wombats, Clinic) and will be available through itunes and on limited edition CD. www.soundcloud.com/marriedtothesea www.facebook.com/mttsband Songs www.soundcloud.com/marriedtothesea Videos www.youtube.com/mttsband "Classic songs. Ever feel like you don´t hear enough of them? This hook-driven quartet could just be the band you´re looking for. Taking influence from The Weakerthans, Ted Leo and Death Cab to name but three, there´s a healthy pop sensibility to MTTS´ intelligent brand of indie-pop, and tunes like "Great! Now I´m In Love have a tendency to burrow into your skull and make themselves at home. Investigate immediately." THE FLY
