Michael Bede Trio
The Michael Bede Trio formed in 2022 to bring the bassist’s compositions to life, with intimate acoustic instrumentation (Double Bass, Michael Bede; Piano, Finn Carter; Alto Sax, Albert Hills Wright). While the initial catalyst for the group was the mellow sound and winding improvisations of the 1997 Haden/Mehldau/Konitz Alone Together record, Michael’s writing is further inspired by old melodies, rich harmonies and the exposed nature of small groups. The three also reimagine Northumbrian folk music and classic American songs for their unusual lineup.
