The first-ever winner of the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year title, Alan Benzie went on to study at Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he won the coveted Billboard Award.
Since returning to Scotland he has led his own trio, recording two enthusiastically recorded albums and touring across Europe to considerable acclaim. He also works with the Glasgow jazz-funk-folk collective Fat-Suit and guitarist Joe Williamson’s prog-jazz group Animal Society.
