Barnsley Youth Choir present a joyous hour of music making with their large children’s choir and a fabulous band. BYC is a registered charity run by volunteers, which seeks to provide outstanding opportunities for young people who live in Barnsley, where over 1 in 3 children live in poverty. The Choir has an outstanding international reputation, and is ranked 5th in the World Rankings, the highest ranked choir from Great Britain. BYC has won numerous awards locally and internationally, has released 2 albums and performed on national TV and Radio. The choir has worked with some of the world’s finest conductors and choirs in this country and abroad, appearing at numerous important international venues. BYC is unusual in that it maintains a wide and diverse repertoire including popular, gospel, spiritual, folk and more classical genres.
