Benji Kirkpatrick and Janie Mitchell
Benji Kirkpatrick is a founding member of multi award-winning folk big band Bellowhead and acclaimed trio Faustus, a key member of Mercury nominee Seth Lakeman´s recording and touring band, and has recorded extensively with Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span) and the Oyster Band. Janie Mitchell, with her previous duo Beguildy, achieved world-wide radio play with the album ‘The Mary Webb Songs’ , featuring as fRoots magazine’s Best Album: Editor’s Choice. Using hammered dulcimer, guitars and bouzouki, the pair blend English folk with contemporary acoustic styles, the master musicianship of Kirkpatrick dovetailing perfectly with Mitchell’s poetic lyricism.
