Cameron J Niven

Hailing from South London, Cameron J Niven draws on the Folk, Blues, Latin & his heritage North African music to form lyrical songs whose rhythmic and hypnotic colours have earned him comparisons from Devendra Banhart to Milton Nascimento.
After releasing his acclaimed debut EP ‘Tick Tock’, produced by BBC Folk Award multi-nominee and winner, Ben Walker, Cameron toured in the UK and later in Spain where he began to implement elements of classical and flamenco guitar styles into his music.
2016 saw the release of Edgar Wallace Exchange, a project that received support from BBC 6 Music, FRUK and attracted the interest of Mice Parade’s Adam Pierce who arranged several dates across New York State, including a support show for British Sea Power splinter group Brakes. Cameron returned from the USA to play a sellout show at St Pancras Old Church.
Having played Festival No. 6, Red Rooster and shows with bands such as Brakes, Low Chimes, Francobollo, Ben Walker & Josienne Clarke and Patch & The Giant, Cameron is currently recording his debut album from his New Cross studio in collaboration with Ben Walker.
