CHANO DOMINGUEZ, “gaditano“ musician - from Cadiz - and pianist was awarded the 2020 National Prize for Current Music by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain for his “very personal style“ and “his long career of four decades dedicated to music, as a composer, performer and arranger“. He is constantly redefining the boundaries between jazz and flamenco and his innovative playing has captivated audiences worldwide, including fellow musicians from both genres. He has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Paco de Lucía, Wynton Marsalis, and Herbie Hancock, showcasing his exceptional interpretive skills. His compositions have been performed by prestigious orchestras and ensembles, including the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the WDR Cologne Big Band. In 2016, he received his fourth Grammy nomination, a Latin Grammy for his album “Bendito,“ where he served as a producer, composer, and pianist alongside flamenco singer Blas Cordoba.
