Drakeford Bio
Independent artist Drakeford is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee who has been writing, recording and performing for 14 years. Hailing from South Carolina, and raised on ´90s pop rock and country music, but most of his performing career has been in to folk/singer songwriting.
Drakeford’s 5 albums and 22 EP singles have received outstanding reviews hitting almost 9 million streams. His music has taken him on tour all over the United States and Europe, performing at festivals, universities, folk clubs, house concerts, coffee shops and everything in between. The melodies are memorable, and the harmonies hypnotic.
His music is folksy at heart with hints of pop throughout, with the finger-picking style being as clear and crisp as the vocal articulation.
Drakeford prides himself on stylistic versatility, writing and performing songs in genre’s ranging from Americana/folk to spoken word and he manages to repeatedly deliver quality both in musical ingenuity cc
Drakeford also writes with several artists in Nashville ranging from country to indie/folk artists. He did background vocals on the Big Daddy Weave TV record, “When The Light Comes“, and played acoustic guitar on “Birthday Of A King“ by Grammy nominated Building 429.
Nashville based Drakeford often performs with his Welsh wife Lucy-Jayne. On this 2025 visit to Yorkshire Drake travels as a solo artist.
