Yorkshire soprano Eleanor Rastall sings for the World Premiere of new folk-inspired songs; celebrating the folk music of the British Isles.
From Ev´ry Hill and Glen was written in 2014 as a collaboration between composers and performers from across the British Isles.

This collection of songs ranges from original folk tunes to mouth music to imaginative reinvention, and incorporates languages and dialects from across the British Isles. They are unexpected, humorous, mischievous, moving; and as wild and passionate as the terrain and people they illustrate.

The composition and re-imagining has been done by Joseph Atkins (England), Seán Doherty (Ireland), Rupert Jeffcoat (Scotland) and Ellen Mason (Wales), based on the folk music of their own country. The pieces were written for, and will be performed by, Yorkshire soprano Eleanor Rastall with Joseph Atkins at the piano.

´Her radiant, pure voice was a delight´
(Haslemere Herald on Eleanor Rastall)

´A superb and sensitive pianist´
(New York Times on Joseph Atkins)
