Glove Compartment is the piano laden solo project from ´The Candle Thieves´ keyboard wiz Ant Shiels.
Sheringham based Glove Compartment make pocket symphonies centered around the intricacies of Ant´s piano playing blended with dry wit & brutal lyricism. The band name was born from Ant´s habit of recording home demos onto CDRs & housing them in the glove box of his dusty hatchback for reference and safe keeping.
The musical sound evokes nostalgia of the great writers of the last generation. Growing up with Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Elton John and Ben Folds Five playing on his walkman evidently left a musical scar.
