Holm are Frank Glynn and Stewart Veitch; a violin and electric guitar instrumental duo. Holm are based near Edinburgh and have recently released a debut album of original material on their own label. Their music has been described as ‘dark, folky madness’-Doug Johnstone. Holm regularly perform at literary and visual art events - Shore Poets, Scottish Book Week at the CCA (with American author David Vann), Hidden Door Festival (with poet Andrew Philip) , Linlithgow Book Festival (with Gutter Magazine writers including crime writer Doug Johnstone and poet Christine De Luca), gallery event (with tapestry artist Fiona Hutchison) etc. They write and perform word-free songs exploring the texture and dynamics of electric guitar and violin. They are not a traditional Scottish act – more cinematic/avant-garde: imagine a Scandi-noir soundtrack!
