James McGrath
Hailing from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, James grew up listening to classic singer songwriters in his Dads music collection.
James became enamoured and also acquainted with music legend Shane McGowan who lives local to Nenagh.
James learned the art of telling stories within his songs from Shane.
James learned his trade singing and playing around the pubs and club in Co. Tipperary.
In 2015, James released his ‘8 Cans’ EP. The title track entered the iTunes download chart in Ireland at number one above Ed Sheeran and sat there for two days.
James then released the single ‘She’s On Drugs’ in 2017 and the ‘Live At The Shed’ EP in 2018.
Following the pandemic, James released the country influenced ‘The Early House’ single in 2021 and then repeated his earlier success in December 2022 by hitting entering the iTunes download chart at number one again with the song ‘Simba’.
