John Alexander
Songwriter John Alexander´s songwriting style is one inspired by landscapes , life and weather, which he fuses together with his experiences of living in Glasgow.
Alexander’s songs have been honed through his solo acoustic performances and have formed the basis for his live performances which have featured a successful run of sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe with the aptly titled “Dustbowl Blues with a Glasgow Kick”.
His latest release ´Of These Lands´ follows on further down the dusty and rocky road with a weathered collection of 11 songs that have been scratched from time spent on his recent journeys.
Alexander´s previous releases have been well received and his album ‘Rain For Sale’ was successful in obtaining placements for his song ‘Nowhere to Go’ on the US television show The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, and ´Let Me Die´ being used in hit Netflix show Longmire.
Alexander’s influences include John Martyn, Greg Brown, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters all of which show themselves in his soulful lyrics, strong guitar licks and storytelling skills.
