Life in Australia, Austin Texas and New York City have all shaped the sounds and songs of Lisa Richards. Born and raised in Townsville North Queensland, Lisa lived in NYC and Austin Texas for 22 years.
Highlights of her time in The USA include touring with folk legend Michelle Shocked as well as performing at the following festivals in the USA: Kerrville Folk Festival. Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Merlefest. 3 years ago she returned home and now lives in our nation´s capital, and is on the cusp of releasing her 1st Australian Made CD “A Light From The Other Side“ produced by Greg J Walker ( Machine Translations, Paul Kelly, CW Stoneking). With sharp observations, humor and a ferociously sweet voice, she explores the complexities of life through a mongrel mix of guitar-based folk, blues, roots and jazz.
