Maaike Siegerist is a Dutch jazz and ´dark folk´ artist with airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Her music is an unusual blend of classic jazz, Argentine folk and gothic influences; her voice has echoes of Joan Baez and the Portuguese fado singer Cristina Branco.
Maaike travelled across the globe and lived in China, before moving to England in 2014 to study music. Her travels and loves have inspired her songs.
She self-released her debut album Born Before the Wind in 2017 and won the Glastonbury FM Songwriting Competition 2018. Now based in Bristol, Maaike performs across the UK and the Netherlands.
